FCC-NE Global Education |

Our children are growing up an increasingly smaller world, an almost instantaneous electronic age where people are communicating via email many time zones apart. How can we parents and educators help prepare them to navigate in a world so different from the world in which we grew up? Many members of Families with Children from China - New England (FCC-NE) have determined that they would like to have their children experience a more global focus in their education, especially finding ways in which they can study China and learn Chinese. FCC-NE seeks to encourage a more global curriculum that includes the study of many cultures and languages, expanding the traditional study of Western Europe to include, among others, Asian and African cultures and languages. The resources listed here have been suggested or created by FCC-NE members in the hopes that parents will share their wisdom, experience, and advice for others who're undertaking the same task: exposing our children to subject matter to prepare them well for their generation's exciting global challenges. If you, as a parent or educator, would like to be involved in a dynamic, online discussion of Global Education, please visit our Yahoo group, FCC-NE_GlobalEd, for information on how to join.
